Decided to make a ladle today. The wood is from old apple orchard stumps. It is available now on Etsy for $25!
Wooden tasting spoons
Very few items in my kitchen are as loved as these elegant, hard wood tasting spoons. They’re long and slender and have a bowl only about the size of a walnut. I’m spoiled to have so many, and even though my intention is to give a few away as Christmas presents next week it’s going to hard to part with a single one. I use them when I’m melting chocolate or butter, or when stirring anything that requires a light touch. I love the feel of them.
Last February when we visited Santa Fe, New Mexico I spied them in a shop on Canyon Road. I bought several and gave most to select friends and family members. My mother and I found more and now we’re going through a second round.
Kitchen tool of the week!

ya kno john green books can be really poetic and meaningful and stuff but if you frame them in the context of real life it’s like wow if i knew a teenager this pretentious in person i would not hesitate to smack em upside the head
